Sorry about not updating, Andrew broke my computer and I haven't been able to connect to the internet since the last update. :)
Everything went perfectly!! She kept her stats high the entire time and cooperated with them beautifully.
They did an echo cardiogram before they stitched her up and there is slight leakage from her valves, but the doctors said they consider the surgery a great success and there should be no need for future surgeries. Of course it all depends on how she grows, but for now my little rock star is in the clear!
So they put her back together and Andrew and I were able to go back to her room immediately to see her and touch her around 1pm. It was hard to see her hooked up to all of the "spaghetti," but she was doing great. There were about a dozen nurses, doctors, etc. back there, everyone frantically working on something. It was a little overwhelming to see such "chaos" around her, but everyone is there for a reason and everyone knows what they are doing.
The anesthesia should wear off in about 4-6 hours and they ::should:: be able to remove her breathing tube. Once it wears off she will be able to open her eyes and look at me and should be slightly responsive. All I want is to see her eyes light up for Mommy and see my Smiley Riley.
We'll be in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) for about 2 days and then she'll be moved to the general pediatric unit where we'll be for 7-10 days depending on how she does.
