So this is blogging...

Okay, so for those that don't know, Riley's heart surgery is scheduled for Thursday, October 28th.

aka: 8 days, 13 hours, 52 minutes and counting...

She will be in the hospital for roughly 2 weeks. Hopefully shorter given that she does well. She happens to be completely amazing so I'm sure she will. :)

She will be in the ICU for 2 days. 2 days = 48 hours = 2880 minutes = 172,800 seconds. I will not be able to touch her during this time so I have broken it down into seconds so that I can count down the time until I can hold my precious angel again.

But at least the anxiety of waiting will be over.

Anyway...

Decided to get a little philosophical this morning...

I went to target and the girl at the register asked what the rubber bracelets on my wrist were for. Feeling emotionally unstable I decided to let out just a little bit so here is what I told her:

I have one that says "Baller" that I have been trying to remember to give back to a friend for about a year now.
I have one that says I <3 Cardiac kids for my 3 month old daughter with down syndrome who has a whole in the center of her heart and is having open heart surgery next week.
I have one for ALS for my husband's father who was recently diagnosed with the quickly progressing Lou Gehrig's Disease.
And I have one for the remember campaign for a car accident I was in in high school that broke 20something bones and killed my homecoming date.

And she said, "oh."
Then she went on to point out that my life is kind of a tragedy. I thought about it as I was leaving and all of the other things that I've been through in my life and pondered whether or not I was really living a tragedy. And then I thought about Riley's eyes and all the love in the world that shines through them when she looks about me. I realized that I'm here with a smile on my face, so it must be a comedy.

My point: Your life is what you make it. Smile. <3
