Lay off - Day 1

So today was Andrew's first day being laid off. Like I said, not an ideal situation, but it is so wonderful that he gets to spend the next few days with Riley before her surgery. He will only be receiving 20 weeks of unemployment and the union will not have any new work until May so we seriously need to find means of alternative income. NOW. I of course have the uncanny ability to pull money out of my rear end on demand, so lets see how I pull this one off. :)

Riley had such a great time at her party the other night!!

She is so loved and is such a blessing to my life. **I am so lucky God picked ME to be her mom**
We all laid our hands on her while her Pop Pop (my dad) prayed for her upcoming surgery and my usually overly energetic little bundle laid completely still and just took in his love. ::She is amazing::

Tomorrow we go for her Medicaid appointment. We should be able to get her covered under "presumptive eligibility" so her surgery on Thursday will hopefully be covered. Cross your fingers.

Off topic: My priorities have changed so much since I've had her that I don't really think an economics degree makes sense for me anymore. I REALLY would like to go into nursing. I think I'd really excel at it and I'd love working with special needs children or in a NICU. I think I'm going to start working on it this coming spring semester. I'll keep you posted.

I think that's it for now. 2 days, 11 hours, 47 minutes and counting until her surgery. The only thing I care about is spending that time with my baby girl.
